LEAVENWORTH — The City of Leavenworth is seeking applicants for an open position on its Design Review Board, a citizen advisory group responsible for maintaining the city's distinctive Old-World Bavarian Alpine theme.

The city announced that it is accepting letters of interest for Position No. 3 on the board, which will begin in October. The selected volunteer will serve the remainder of a four-year term, ending in December 2026.

According to the city's press release, ideal candidates should possess "a fundamental knowledge of Old-World Bavarian Alpine architecture" or demonstrate experience such as travel or work in Bavaria's Alpine region.

Qualifications for board members include the ability to differentiate between regional design elements and familiarity with Old-World Bavarian design features "such as color, window treatment, murals, overhangs, and building materials."

Interested parties must submit their letters of interest by 4:00 p.m. on September 18. Applications can be submitted to the City of Leavenworth via emai, mail, or in person to City of Leavenworth, Attn: Andrea Fischer, 700 Hwy 2 | PO Box 287.
