Leavenworth seeks applicants for Park and Recreation Board vacancy

LEAVENWORTH — The City of Leavenworth is seeking applicants for an open position on the Upper Valley Park and Recreation Service Area (PRSA) Board.

The vacancy is for the Chumstick Highway Represented Position, a volunteer advisory role for the Special Purpose District. Candidates must reside along the Chumstick Highway within the PRSA boundaries to be eligible.

According to the city's press release, "The PRSA is a voter-approved Special Purpose District (a legal entity separate from the City of Leavenworth) that was formed in 1997 with the primary purpose of funding the reconstruction and maintenance of the community pool."

The selected board member will serve for the remainder of 2024, which includes one scheduled meeting in November. The PRSA Board typically convenes six times annually, with meetings held in January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Interested individuals are required to submit a letter of interest by 4:00 p.m. on September 9, 2024. Applications can be submitted via email, mail, or in person to the City of Leavenworth.

The PRSA Board will review submissions at their next meeting on September 12. The position will be up for renewal in January 2025 for a four-year term ending December 2028.
