WENATCHEE -- Evan Cloyd's bat propelled the Wenatchee AppleSox to a hard-fought 11-10 victory over the Victoria HarbourCats on Thursday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium, despite a late-game surge from the visitors.

Cloyd fell just a triple short of hitting for the cycle, going 4-for-4 with a home run, double, two singles, and four RBIs. His performance was instrumental in the AppleSox (20-10, 2-1 second half) securing their ninth series win of the season and improving their home record to 11-4.

The game saw dramatic swings in momentum, with Wenatchee twice putting up five-run innings to build a substantial lead. However, Victoria (15-15, 1-2 second half) mounted a fierce comeback in the late innings, scoring four runs in both the seventh and eighth to narrow the gap.

Cam Hoiland (1-0) earned his first win of the season, allowing two runs (one earned) over five innings of work. JD Goodcase secured his first save, navigating through tense moments in the final two innings as Victoria threatened to complete their comeback.

Max Hartman continued his impressive form, extending his hitting streak to 10 games and maintaining his position as the West Coast League's leading run scorer with 29. James Castagnola also contributed significantly, driving in two crucial runs in the third inning to give Wenatchee a lead they would not relinquish.

The victory improved Wenatchee's division play record to an impressive 18-6 and saw them clinch the season series against Victoria 4-2.

The AppleSox now turn their attention to their upcoming series against the Nanaimo NightOwls, with the first game scheduled for Friday night at Serauxmen Stadium.
