WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center will recognize Ward Media CEO and Publisher Terry Ward and the Interfaith Justice Coalition as recipients of its 2026 Community Peacebuilder Award during the organization's 20th anniversary celebration this fall.
The annual award honors individuals and organizations that make outstanding contributions to promoting peace, fostering understanding and strengthening relationships throughout North Central Washington.
Ward is being recognized for his commitment to encouraging civility, kindness, personal responsibility, community service and respectful dialogue through both his publisher's columns and his broader community leadership.
The Interfaith Justice Coalition will receive the award for bringing together faith communities from across North Central Washington to build relationships across differences and organize around issues of social justice. According to the WVDRC, the coalition's work promotes tolerance, empathy, inclusion and nonviolence throughout the region.
The dispute resolution center will also present its 2026 Community Mediation Legacy Award to longtime volunteer and mediator Concie Luna, recognizing decades of service that have helped shape mediation programs both within the organization and throughout the community.
Luna helped launch a student conflict mediation program and has served as a mentor, volunteer and advocate for the organization for many years.
"This celebration honors the volunteers, partners and community leaders whose commitment to dialogue, understanding and peaceful problem-solving has strengthened our region," Executive Director Jennifer Talbot said. "As we reflect on 20 years of service, we commemorate the power of people coming together in pursuit of reconciliation."
The awards will be presented during WVDRC's "Cheers to 20 Years" Annual Celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Wenatchee. The event marks the organization's 20th anniversary of providing conflict resolution and mediation services throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties.
Early-bird priority seating is available through Aug. 31. Additional information and tickets are available at www.wvdrc.org/events.
