I don’t know who our State Department negotiators are for the renewal of the Columbia River Treaty, this treaty dates back to the Eisenhower Administration. I know the water that flows through our PUD dams on the Columbia is Federal water and B.C. Hydro negotiators do. This gets to my question of who represents our PUD rate payers at the treaty negotiations? Our electrical rates have been the lowest in the nation. Will we wake up to find the unknowns at the U.S. State Department have sold us down river?
