Leavenworth Library kicks off book drive for annual fundraiser

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — The Friends of the Leavenworth Library have announced the commencement of their book collection drive for their annual used book sale. The collection will begin on June 28 and continue on the second and fourth Fridays of each month through August 30.

Residents are encouraged to donate their used books at 12874 Cemetery Road in Leavenworth between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on designated collection days. The organization aims to gather a diverse selection of books for its September sale, which serves as a significant fundraising event for the library.

The Friends of the Leavenworth Library have specified that textbooks, encyclopedias, and magazines will not be accepted as part of this collection drive. The focus remains on general interest books that are likely to appeal to a broad readership.

This initiative provides an opportunity for community members to declutter their bookshelves while supporting their local library. Proceeds from the September book sale will contribute to various library programs and services.
