Leavenworth Alphorn Association awards first scholarship

LEAVENWORTH – The Leavenworth Alphorn Association awarded its first ever scholarship to Cascade High School Senior Scott Lindsay, in the amount of $1,000.

“Scott has played more than 50 performances with the Leavenworth Alphorns. He loves music and has especially loved playing alphorn alongside his grandpa and brothers,” said Janet Mano of the Leavenworth Alphorn Association.

After graduating high school, Lindsay will serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He hopes to attend an alphorn workshop in Switzerland before starting college at Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU). Lindsay plans to become a commercial pilot.

The Leavenworth Alphorn Association is a nonprofit community association that promotes the alphorn and Leavenworth’s alpine theme through education and performance.
