YAKIMA—The Yakima Valley Pippins scored early and often, putting up five runs in each of the first two innings to rout the Wenatchee AppleSox 14-3 on Tuesday night at Yakima County Stadium, snapping the AppleSox' five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Wenatchee's Antonio Gianni continued his impressive offensive performance, blasting his West Coast League-leading fourth home run in the second inning. Luca Boscarino also contributed, driving in a pair of runs with a double in the fifth and a single in the seventh.

The AppleSox saw strong performances from several players, with Cannon Peery extending his multi-hit game streak to three, going 2-for-4 and scoring twice. Jonathan Fitz also collected a pair of hits for the second consecutive game, while Hunter Friedberg had his first three-hit game of the summer.

Wenatchee will look to bounce back in the series on Wednesday night when they face the Pippins again at 6:35 p.m. The AppleSox will send Garrett Ahern to the mound for his second start of the season, while the Pippins will counter with Colton LaFave.

The loss drops the AppleSox to 12-4 on the season, while the Pippins improve to 10-6 with the victory.
