Jazz concert to boost local healthcare

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — The Cascade Medical Foundation will host its third annual "Jive Time in the Cascades" fundraising concert on Sept. 21, 2024, at the Leavenworth Festhalle in downtown Leavenworth.

The event will feature the Wenatchee Big Band, a 20-piece community jazz orchestra ensemble, performing a mix of swing and jazz standards along with modern favorites. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Concert tickets are priced at $40, with an optional pre-concert dinner available for an additional $25. The dinner, catered by Me2You Catering, offers a spaghetti menu and begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner orders must be placed by Sept. 13, while concert tickets will be available until showtime on Sept. 21.

The Cascade Medical Foundation is raising funds for a new Mobile Integrated Health Program. This initiative will enable Cascade Medical paramedics and EMTs to conduct in-home visits to recently released hospital patients, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions. The program is expected to improve health outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions.

The foundation's previous fundraising event, the Marson and Marson Cascade Golf Classic held in June, raised over $49,000. These funds completed the campaign for a new hematology analyzer for Cascade Medical's lab and initiated funding for the Mobile Integrated Health Program vehicle.

Several local businesses have sponsored the event, including Kahler Mountain Club, Leavenworth/Pine Village KOA, Cashmere Valley Bank, Ogden Murphy Wallace, and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group. Additionally, more than 35 local businesses have donated gift cards that will be available for purchase at a discount during the concert.

For more information about the event or to purchase tickets, interested parties can visit cascademedicalfoundation.org or contact the Foundation office at 509-548-2523.
