Celebration, fundraiser highlight Stevens Pass season end

SKYKOMISH — Stevens Pass closed out the winter season with its annual Spring Fest on April 13.

The weekend festivities kicked off with the annual Chuck-a-Duck fundraiser, which supports the ski resort’s adaptive partner, Outdoors for All.

“We had a fantastic turnout, tons of smiling faces, and an incredible energy in the air—a great way to close out the season with a true celebration,” said Stevens Pass General Manager and Vice President Ellen Galbraith, in an email to Ward Media.

The fundraiser was followed by a pond skim, with music provided by DJ Good Cat. Participants donned their best and whackiest costumes as they attempted to successfully skim across the icy pond in front of a crowd of spectators.

“We had a great season at Stevens Pass. Mother Nature showed up early, and thanks to our team's preparation, we were able to kick things off ahead of schedule in November. December brought great snow, giving the season a strong start and great momentum that carried through spring,” said Galbraith.

Stevens Pass representatives told Ward Media the season’s highlights included the new-this-year Friday Night Lights rail jam competition series, as well as a successfully busy season in the Ski and Ride School.

“Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep building on the momentum for next season’s events—especially with the return of Women’s Weekend, which saw double the participation this year compared to last. We’ve also got a full slate of summer maintenance projects planned, both on and off the hill, that will continue to enhance the guest experience and set us up for another great season next winter,” said Galbraith.

The ski resort also plans to carry the 2024-2025 season’s parking model into next season, continuing a mix of free and paid parking on weekends and during peak periods, with a focus on reservations and carpooling incentives.

Stevens Pass Bike Park is slated to open on June 27.
