Bavarian Bike ‘n Brews rebranded as Leavenworth Bike Fest

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — The popular Bavarian Bike 'n Brews event is making its return to the Cascade foothills with a new name and expanded programming. Rebranded as the Leavenworth Bike Fest, the event will take place from June 13 to 15 at the Leavenworth Ski Hill and will feature mountain bike, gravel, and road cycling competitions, along with family activities, live music, and a youth helmet giveaway.

Proceeds from the event will support the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and its work maintaining and expanding trails at Ski Hill, a year-round recreation site used by mountain bikers, hikers, and skiers.

In addition to the return of the Bike 'n Brews mountain bike race and the youth-focused Bike 'n Juice race, the festival will introduce two new races:

  • SchotterFest, a gravel race offering both professional and amateur course options.

  • Alpen Tour de Flüsse, a road cycling event with two route lengths, including a 100-kilometer metric century.

Live entertainment will be hosted at the Icicle Brewing Finish Line Beer Garden and will feature performances by Buzz Brümp and Bandits of the Animal Kingdom. A Silent Disco with DJ Abe is scheduled for Saturday night.

The Arlberg Sports Bike Expo will feature booths from local and national cycling brands, including GIANT bicycles. On Sunday, Wenatchee Valley Velo will host Lidz on Kidz, distributing 450 free helmets to children from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New mountain bike and gravel race courses were developed for the event by North Central Washington professional racer and gravel ambassador Cole Paton.

A coalition of organizations has partnered to organize the relaunch, including Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, Wenatchee Valley Velo, Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation, Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, TedDriven, and Howell at the Moon Productions.

The festival overlaps with the Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival, held June 14-15 at Raging River, creating a full weekend of racing and recreation for cyclists across the Pacific Northwest.

Registration for Leavenworth Bike Fest is currently open, and same-day registration will be available. More details can be found at leavenworthbikefest.com or by contacting Festival Director Jamie Howell at jamie@leavenworthbikefest.com.
