The Bavarian Village Business Association (BVBA) met on Tuesday, March 5 at the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. After conducting a short business meeting, the members enjoyed a tour of this fabulous non-profit museum. The collection contains 6,000 nutcrackers with some dating back hundreds of years. An exhibit of Aboriginal and Native American nutting stones, dating back thousands of years, reminds of the importance of nuts in the ancient and modern human diet. Don't forget that July 6 is Nutcracker Day in Leavenworth, featuring a contest to create a nutcracker in a unique way, capable of cracking a hazelnut. A $1,000 grand prize will be awarded, among other prizes. Please see the website for details, www.nutcrackermuseum.com/NutcrackerDay.htm.
