Gloria Fay Mathews The Pajama Lady
On Nov. 23, 1932 Gloria was born to Irvin and Lyda Sines of Entiat, Washington. She passed away March 30, 2016 after a brief illness. Over the years, she became an exceptional seamstress, known for making everything from children's pajamas (thus The Pajama Lady) to wedding dresses. No matter what project people brought to her door, she was always happy to take on a new challenge. Every year, Gloria looked forward to finding the perfect pattern to make matching Christmas and Easter dresses for her

Eleanor T. Culling
Eleanor Culling died peacefully on April 20, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born April 8, 1936 in Massachusetts. She grew up in Michigan and attended De Pauw University graduating with a degree in Music and Music Education. Eleanor taught instrumental and choral music in Michigan for 20 years.

Vivian Parkins
Our amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend Vivian passed away peacefully on April 7, 2016. Vivian was born Dec. 4, 1929 to Audie and Lee (Levi) Watson in Melbourne, Arkansas. She moved to Wenatchee, WA where she met and married Jack Parkins on April 27, 1946. She has resided in Cashmere for the last 55 years. Together, they raised seven children, Jackie, Doug, Joe, Bill, Mike, Sheryl and Suzy.

Delbert (Mac) Eugene McCoy
Delbert "Mac" McCoy, 88 of Yakima,
Washington, died unexpectedly on Oct. 10, 2015 doing what he loved . . . on his annual hunting trip with his life-long friend, Bob Quesnell.
Born in Leavenworth, Washington, he was the son of the late Delbert and Ruth McCoy. He grew up in the Wenatchee Valley where he worked in the family orchards and also at the Peshastin Mill. He enlisted in the US Navy right out of high school and upon his return he married his sweetheart, Arloha.

Eugene Dennis "Denny" McMillin
Denny died after a short illness at Central Washington Hospital Feb. 21, 2016 with some of his family present. Denny was born to Eugene "Mac" and Mary McMillan on March 14, 1939 in Portland, Oregon where he grew up and attended St. Rose Elementary and Central Catholic High School. Upon graduating in 1957, he moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to live in a shack affectionately named the Boars Nest with five other guys and attend Colorado State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management.
After graduation Denny was drafted into the U.S. Army and served out most of his two years in Germany. During his tour of duty, the Cuban Missile crisis erupted and as Denny put it, "all we had was one machine gun and some typewriters to throw at the whole Russian Army." After his discharge from the Army, Denny got a job with the U.S. Forest Service where he worked for the next 40 years, in various locations; Ripplebrook, Oregon, Darrington, Washington, Glacier, Washington, Lake Wenatchee, Washington, and finally Leavenworth, Washington, until his retirement.

Emma "Ruth" Olive Stump
Ruth Stump, 93 of Yakima, Washington, died peacefully on Feb. 15, 2016 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center with family and friends at her side.
Born in Peshastin, Washington, Ruth was the daughter of the late Delbert and Ruth McCoy and sister to the late Delbert "Mac" McCoy. She grew up in the Wenatchee Valley where she worked in the apple industry with her family and friends. Eventually she became a meat wrapper and retired from this profession when living in Hoquiam, Washington with her late husband Ted Stump.
Ruth loved to travel and lived not only in the Wenatchee Valley but also in California, Seattle, and Olympia. When moving to Yakima two years ago, the Ponderosa became her home. The residents there were her family and she was delighted with the friendships she made.

Lola Adams
Lola Adams, 92, passed away on Feb. 22, 2016 at Cashmere Convalescent Center in Cashmere, Washington. She was the last of her generation to join her Heavenly family.
Lola was born May 11, 1923 in Doniphan, Missouri to Argalous and Lola Johnson.
As a child Lola and her sister Wanda danced on the streets to help support the family in the '30s which lead to a career in Vaudeville. In 1940, she met and married Samuel Humphrey. They had one child, Charmayne in 1941.

Morrell Ernest Thies
Morrell Ernest Thies, affectionately known as "Ernest," "Big Ern" or "Coach," age 85, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2016. He graduated from Grand Coulee HS in 1949 and lived in Electric City with his father and mother, Alfred and Hazel Thies. He continued his education at Eastern Washington College and Washington State University, participating in collegiate baseball and football.
Beginning in 1954, he served in the US Army, and following his tour of duty, he completed his education at Central Washington College, where he earned his BA in Education with a Chemistry Major. On Aug. 24, 1957, he married his college sweetheart, Marion Lipsky.

Charlene Reich Townley
Wilma Charlene Reich, known as Char from birth, was born to William Charles and Louise Christine Reich in Chicago, Illinois, on February 15, 1936. From an early age, Char and her older sister, Diane, studied the piano and Char truly excelled. She could play classical, gospel, and jazz, spicing up traditional hymns and choruses with her own unique style. She did well in school, attending the University of Chicago Laboratory School and then finishing up at Fenger High School, graduating in 1952. She attended Lindenwood College for one year and then transferred to the University of Illinois and got her degree in Elementary Education in February 1957. She then followed Diane out to southern California to find a teaching job and it was there she met Bryce Townley, a handsome Civil Engineer and Naval officer with a yellow corvette. It was a quick romance and they were married on December 22, 1957.
