"Come all and drink champagne in my garden and celebrate my being here for awhile and remember 'tis a journey not a destination." - Carolyn Warman

Carolyn was born June 24, 1927 to Donald Grant Paton and Winifred Wyman Paton. She graduated from Cashmere High School in 1945 and earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Washington State College in 1949. She was a founding member of the Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity where she made lifelong friends and attended DG reunions each year. She was a 'Fish Fan' at WSC and performed shows for Mother's Day weekend. She later taught swimming in the Cashmere pool before taking a job as a caseworker in Chelan and Douglas counties.

Carolyn also worked in Yakima and King County as a Child Welfare Case Worker. When Carolyn and her son Allan lived in Seattle she entered graduate school in 1961 and earned a Master's in Social Work with honors from the University of Washington.

She met her love Harry Warman on New Year's Eve 1962 at the Lowers home, urged to go to the party against her initial wishes by her bother Don and sister-in-law JoAnne. Harry and Carolyn were married Sept. 19, 1963. They lived on Birch Street in Cashmere and Carolyn was a case work supervisor in Wenatchee and later worked at the Center for Youth Services. They later moved to the home and orchard her grandparents built in Cashmere.

Harry, Carolyn and Allan spent many happy memories at their summer home at Lake Wenatchee, fishing, sailing and enjoying the lake. Carolyn loved to garden and entered the Chelan County Fair most of her life. Her garden was her pride and joy and she is grateful to her friend Jorge Estrada who helped her with her garden for so many years.

Her fondest times were at 'Carolyn's Coffee Hour' in her kitchen with her orchard manager and great friend Jason Ferry, her nephew Jeff Paton and anyone else who dropped by ready to debate, laugh and gain much history. Carolyn is grateful to the caregivers who have helped her in so many ways including Vickie Granger, Heather Pearson, Donna Vickery and many others.

Carolyn is a lifelong member of St. James Episcopal Church in Cashmere and a founding member of the St. Anne's Guild. She remains grateful to her friends at St. James especially Tom and Mary Hohn who took her to church so often.

Carolyn died peacefully at home in the house her grandfather built in 1900. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry Warman, her parents, her brother Donald Paton, Jr. and many other family members. She is survived by her son Allan Paton Warman (Cassie McVeety), her husband's son Mike Warman (Heidi) and their children Scott and Torie Warman. Nephew, Joe Paton (Sue Safioles), and their son Michael Paton; niece, Judy Biondi (Mark) and their daughter Amy Biondi; nephew, Jeff Paton and his children Andrew, Will and Nick Paton; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial gifts in Carolyn's name may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 222 Cottage Ave., Cashmere, WA. 98815.

A Memorial Service was on March 29, 2014, at St. James Episcopal Church in Cashmere. Telford's Chapel of the Valley was in charge of arrangements.
