Mea culpa, mea culpa..
My critics are right. We made a mistake during the printing of the 2016 Sonnenschein. I am sorry that it happened and have been weighing the options for addressing the problem.
First, for those who do not know. We inadvertently posted dates for four weekends of Oktoberfest fun on page 11 of Sonnenschein.
Projekt Bayern is not adding another weekend of Oktoberfest. In fact the article says clearly that Oktoberfest is three weekends. Projekt Bayern is still only planning for three weekends - Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, Oct. 7 and 8 and Oct. 14 and 15. There is no Oktoberfest on Oct. 21 and 22. That was our mistake, but it is clearly a mistake since the article says it is "three weekends."

Professional politicians still shaking their heads
This week I received an opinion column from former Democratic Congressman Lee H. Hamilton from Indiana. Hamilton was railing about how "those who know congress best" are shaking their heads over the inaction of the current congress.

Trumpster defines mood of America
Mainline republicans who demanded Trump pledge not to run as a third party candidate just a few months ago are now abandoning the party. Could anything make it more clear why republican voters have chosen Trump?

Angry voters have handed the Republican Party control of Congress in the last two elections and what have they done? Nothing. They didn't repeal Obama Care. They didn't stop the out of control spending. They didn't even try. They handed the Democrats everything they wanted. That is not why they were elected.

Economic ignorance signals the end of freedom
The country is bankrupt. The national debit is now at $19 trillion not counting the full liability for Social Security obligations or pension payments to government employees.
Don't worry. Be happy. The rest of the civilized world is providing health care, retirement and free education to all of their citizens so we should be able to do that too. Ignore the fact that most of those civilized countries, Greece, Italy, and Spain for example, are facing violent protests because they can't pay for the benefits politicians have promised to provide.
