Two things: SUVs and studded tires. Seems like the higher the price of gas, the more ugly, gas hogging SUVs are sold. Suggestion, raise the price of gas to six plus dollars a gallon, like in Europe, to get rid of these unsightly gas hogs. In addition, they are a menace to those of us driving our thrifty compact cars. If we get hit by one of these babies, it's "goodbye world." Now onto studded tires. Why on earth does this state allow studded tires? They have completely ruined our roads. They grind up our highways and create excessive wear on tires due to roughness and grooves in our highways. So those of us without studs are paying the price. I would encourage the government to ban studded tires, as in most other states, but the damage is already done in Washington state. When will we ever learn? Probably never.
